Watch: World's tallest bridge completes key load-bearing test
The impressive Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in China has taken a major step ahead of the scheduled late September opening with a five-day testing process to ensure its structural integrity. The load test is the final checkpoint that needs to be completed before it is safe for traffic.
A testing team drove 96 trucks onto the bridge to designated points to test the bridge's structural integrity.
Upon completion, the bridge will be setting records for both the world's tallest bridge and the largest span bridge built in a mountainous area, rising an impressive 625 metres above a river in the Guizhou province.
