Watch: Meteor shower seen in skies above UK
The annual Perseid meteor shower has been gracing the night skies around the UK and the world for the past few nights. Expect to see bright meteors burning in the atmosphere as dust particles fall from the Swift-Tuttle comet.
Captured on Camera:
Astronomers from Astro Dog, a Scarborough-based astronomy company, captured the peak of the event on August 13th from North York Moors National Park. To maximize their chances of filming the glittering show, they used a camera with a large sensor and aperture, pointed 45 degrees away from the radiant point. The Perseids will be active until August 24th, so you still have a chance to catch a glimpse or video.
