Fast-food giant Jollibee blames fraudsters for raffle row in Philippines
Jollibee, a fast-food giant in the Philippines, is facing controversy after a raffle promotion turned into a storm of fraud allegations.
The company recently ran a promotional raffle offering customers a chance to win a house and lot, with the grand draw slated for August 31. Participants were required to collect stamps on their promo flyers through purchases, where each stamp would represent one entry. Nonetheless, reports of suspicious activities have since emerged, with several flyers reportedly being sold on social media platforms and messaging apps.
The Fraudulent Activities
According to insiders, the raffle storm has now triggered a wave of investigations by the company, aimed at identifying the perpetrators of these fraudulent activities. Local news outlets have also reported instances of customers encountering individuals purportedly selling these raffle entries, with some offers ranging from @P300 to @P1,000. Jollibee has since released a statement regarding the issue, blaming these fraudulent activities on a select few who aimed to @exploit the promo for their personal gain.
